Bobbi-Jo Webb-Robertson Returns to Computational Biology

Bobbi-Jo Webb-Robertson

A 16-year veteran of PNNL, Bobbie-Jo Webb-Robertson will begin the next phase of her career in the biology division starting March 1. She’ll play an integral role in building a strategy for growing computational biology research programs.

“I’m excited to spend more time on science programs,” said Webb-Robertson. “I want to see programs where we not only support domain scientists, but they also support us by performing more experiments to verify our computational models.  This requires computational biology to move more into a leadership role, which I am thrilled to be supporting.”

Webb-Robertson has spent the past five years as the group manager of the Applied Statistics & Computational Modeling group in the Computational Analytics division in NSD. There’s an advantage, she says, to moving around the Lab. “The Computational Analytics division is roughly 350 people. There is a lot of talent representing awesome capabilities—some of which aren’t well known in other parts of the Lab. Having lived in that world for several years now, I hope to make some connections between analysts, statisticians, and researchers that will ultimately elevate our biology portfolio.”
